Ncell Pvt. Ltd. in collaboration with the Nepal Education, Science and Technology Ministry and the Rato Bangala Foundation (RBF) organized the second International Conference on Quality Education 2019 (ICQE2019) in Kathmandu between August 24-26, 2019.
“With this partnership in ICQE2019 with MoEST and RBF, Ncell aims to empower education from the roots by delivering special skills, knowledge, and expertise within the education sector to help empower in aspects such as skills training, enhancing early-childhood education and knowledge sharing with those involved in the education sector at large,” read Ncell’s press statement.
The three-day conference witnessed the presence of government officials, district-level teachers, national and international educational researchers and experts from Bangladesh, China, India, Singapore and the United States as trainers.
“The conference featured more than 75 expert-led presentations, 60 workshops, 14 parallel sessions over the three days, focusing around the theme ‘learning by doing approach on early-childhood development model’. Over 700 participants, including more than 300 government level teachers from 55 districts, attended the conference,” the statement further read.
Nepal Education Minister Giriraj Mani Pokharel was the Chief Guest at the event. Speaking at the ICQE2019 opening ceremony, Minister Pokharel said, “Nepal will be able to achieve its 2030 Nepal’s School Sector Development Plan (SSDP) vision of ensuring equitable access to safe and quality education for all, only by focusing on providing quality education in the classroom, from early-childhood onward.”
Also present at the event, Parliament Education and Health Committee Chairperson Jayapuri Gharti said that the committee was holding talks with regard to improving education quality in government schools.
“We are extremely happy to partner with MoEST for its overarching strategic plan to attain SSDP Goals. Ncell’s focus is to empower foundational skills by providing platform for teachers from public sector that do not have access to training opportunities,” said Andy Chong, Ncell CEO, whose organization hosted the event as part of its corporate social responsibility initiative.
