The organizers are scrambling to find the best dates for the tournament!
West Indies batsmen Chris Gayle remains a most-wanted player in Nepal as the country scrambles to announce a new schedule for the Everest Premier League (EPL) 2020.
The ‘Universal Boss’ was anticipated to be the League’s iconic star, but the coronavirus pandemic has shattered all the plans.
The organizers are mulling over finding the best schedule for the tournament on par with the availability of Chris Gayle and other overseas players.
“Of course, the availability dates for Chris Gayle and other foreign players shall be considered and shall be put on priority,” said EPL MD Aamir Akhtar.

“We would love to have him in EPL if everything works out. He has a huge fan following in Nepal,” he added.
Earlier in January, the hitter has twitted that he will play for Pokhara Rhinos in the 2020 Everest Premier League.
Other big names in the League include:
- Hashim Amla (South Africa)
- Dwayne Smith (West Indies)
- Mohammad Shahzad (Afghanistan)
- Paul Stirling (Ireland)
- Kevin O’Brien (Ireland)
- Upul Tharanga (Sri Lanka)
- Corey Anderson (New Zealand)
The EPL 2020, which was scheduled from March 14-28, 2020, has been indefinitely postponed over the rising concerns of the coronavirus outbreak.
